Biography
Shaun Frost received his B.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics from Flinders University SA, B.Sc.(Hons) in Applied Mathematics from the University of Adelaide and M.Sc. in Signal and Information Processing also from the University of Adelaide.
He worked for 9 years as a defence scientist with the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO), conducting research into infrared hyperspectral remote sensing, thermal imaging, electro-optic sensor design and development and also managed Defence scientific trials.
Shaun then transitioned into biomedical imaging and sensor design as Senior Biomedical Engineer with the Lions Eye Institute, Centre for Telemedicine and E-Health.
Shaun is currently working towards a PhD on the topic of ocular biomarkers for early detection and monitoring of neurodegenerative diseases. He is enrolled at the University of Western Australia and working for CSIRO’s Australian e-Health Research Centre (AEHRC) in Perth, Western Australia. Shaun’s research into Alzheimer’s disease is hosted by the McCusker Alzheimer’s Research Foundation and his PhD is supervised by the Foundations Director of Research, Professor Ralph Martins and AEHRC Research Director Yogesan Kanagasingam.
