Biography
Ron holds a PhD in Computer Science. His current research interests include multiagent systems, optimisation, distributed intelligence, image analysis, image segmentation algorithms and visual programming.
Previously, Ron mainly worked in the areas of automatic mammogram screening, 3D CT based surgery planning, 3D centreline extraction for anatomical structures and 3D automatic segmentation for paediatric dosimetry. In each of these areas he developed original algorithms that were either developed to a patent or significantly helped a (successful) grant application.
Ron was principally responsible for the Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Surgery Planning System (the AAA System), developed in 2001-2002.
