Biography

Peyman is a Postdoctoral research fellow in the Autonomous Systems laboratory at the CSIRO's ICT Centre. Before joining the CSIRO, Peyman held visiting research position at the Deutsche Telekom Laboratories (Germany). Previously, he was a team member of the Centre for Environmental Sensing and Modelling (CENSAM) under the auspices of the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART). There, he worked on developing 3D perception technology for autonomous surface crafts (ASCs). His current research interests include cognitive robotics, computer vision, machine learning, and gesture-based human computer interaction.
Peyman has completed his PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) in 2011. His thesis focused on developing biologically inspired visual intelligence systems for Unmanned Ground Vehicles.
