Biography
I was born in Sydney and lived in Hobart and Bendigo before returning to Sydney. I studied for a double degree in Science and Engineering, graduating with First Class Honours in Electrical Engineering in 1980.
From 1980 to 1998 I worked at the University of Sydney, firstly on R&D projects and then as a lecturer in the School of Electrical and Information Engineering. During that period I completed a part time PhD in the area of Spread Spectrum Urban Navigation, and spent a period of leave working for a private start up in the same area.
Since 1998 I have been employed by the CSIRO at the Marsfield site. Here I have worked with several teams on a wide range of projects, including microwave HBT device and circuit design and sensor network arrays. At present I am working in the Wireless and Networking Technologies Lab in the area of Inertial Navigation systems for the WASP wireless localisation project.
