Biography
After graduating in Computer Science from the University of NSW, I held a programmer position at IPS Radio and Space Sciences in Sydney, then an Analyst/Programmer position at the Head Office of DMR consulting in Montreal, Canada. I returned to Australia as a Senior Analyst/Programmer at the AGSM, UNSW, then took up a position for 3 years in Technical Support at Oxford University Press in Oxford UK.
I commenced a PhD program at ANU in 1991, and took up a research position at CSIRO, Canberra in 1995. In CSIRO I have worked on data and system integration technologies, predominantly in areas applied to natural resource management but also in bioinformatics, business enterprise, health, and defence. My research focuses on semantics, both on and off the Web.
