Biography

Nan Yang was born in Hebei, China in December 1982. He received the B.S. degree in Electronics from China Agricultural University, Beijing, China, in 2005, the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Beijing Institute of Technology in 2007, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Beijing Institute of Technology in 2011. He was a recipient of the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award. From 2008 to 2010, he was a visiting Ph.D. student with the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at the University of New South Wales, Australia. Since 2010, he has been with the Wireless and Networking Technologies Laboratory at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO), Australia. He also holds a visiting appointment at the University of New South Wales, Australia. From November to December 2011, he was a visiting scholar at Singapore University of Technology and Design, Singapore. He serves as a reviewer of several international prestigious journals, such as the IEEE Transactions on Communications, the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, the IEEE Communications Letters, and several international flagship conferences, such as ICC, GlobeCOM, WCNC, VTC, and PIMRC. His general research interests lie in the area of communications theory and signal processing, with specific interests in cooperative communications, MIMO systems, resource allocation, and physical layer security.
