Biography

John Matthews received his B.Sc. (with honours) in 1988 from the Electronic Engineering Dept., Southampton University, UK. Currently, he is working as a Senior Research Projects Officer at the CSIRO Wireless and Networking Technologies Laboratory in Sydney. His expertise is in software and hardware development for network system products. Recent projects have included:

* Design and VHDL development of a wireless MAC layer for the 10Gbps Ngara wireless backhaul project.
* Design and VHDL development of a wireless MAC layer for the Ngara SDMA rural wireless access project.
* Design and C/C++ development of an NPU based traffic conditioner that implemented a novel QoS algorithm for core ISP networks.
