Biography
My initial research area was in the field Defence communications and enemy transmitter fingerprinting. After joining CSIRO I was involved in the design of various Spread Spectrum communication systems. I worked in the development of the 'Position Location System' to radio locate moving targets which has applications in sporting arenas, with full-motion dynamic tracking of position. I also worked in the field of new generation mobile phones and developed a scanner for IS95 standard. I was involved in the development of a patient home care unit. I developed a 24 Channel digital BeamFormer for Radio astronomy. I also was involved in the development of the modem for CSIRO's world first 6 Gbit/sec radio link.
My recent work is mainly centred on the development of a Real time Multiple Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) Communication link. I am also working on the new generation 192 channel digital BeamFormer for use in the Radio Astronomy.
