Biography

Since joining CSIRO in 1991, Gavin Walker has worked in
- Integrated use of information models for validation, discovery and product integration using UML and semantic technologies.
- XML Schema for transfer of water information with strong validation requirements.
- semantic Spatial Data Infrastructure in the water domain
- security and privacy over web services
- web based access to multiple data sources
- microscopic traffic simulation
- spatial decision support

Gavin's primary expertise is in distributed systems integration.

2009	Led the WIRADA Water Data Transfer Standards project.
2006	Part of a cross divisional group developing the WRON Reference Model v0.1.
2006	Led a small team as part of CSIRO's contribution to the OGC OWS4.
2005	Build the i-journal demonstrator, an interactive journal with data and computation.
2000	Led a small team on the RIMIS project applying service integration to spatial and modelling data and hydrological models.
1993	Built the Environmental Decision Support System (EDSS) for the Evironment Resource Information Network (ERIN).
