Biography
Robert Zlot joined the field robotics group at CSIRO's Autonomous Systems Laboratory in 2007. Robert's main research focus is in perception for both autonomous vehicles and mobile mapping systems. His recent work in 3D SLAM has been applied to mapping of industrial environments, mines, natural environments, indoor spaces, and city streets. Other research interests include navigation and safety systems for autonomous ground vehicles.
Robert is originally from Toronto, Canada. He received a PhD in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University in 2006. His thesis focused on task allocation, planning, and scheduling for coordinating a team of autonomous robots.
