Prototypes and Services - Orthomode Transducers

We have developed several Orthomode Transducer (OMT) designs that are used in radio astronomy and satellite earth stations.

These include:

  • Asymmetrical OMT
  • Symmetrical OMT
  • Quad-ridged OMT
The examples shown are the quadridged OMT and the asymmetrical OMT.

This particular asymmetrical OMT is a compact design suitable for applications covering the extended 3.4 to 4.2 GHz communications band.

The Quad-ridged OMTs have been designed to operate with a bandwidth up to 2.7:1 and can be used for applications operating up to 18 GHz.
