Dr cécile paris
Dr Cécile Paris is a Principal Senior Research Scientist and
Science Leader at CSIRO/Information and Communication Technology
(ICT) Centre. Paris received a BA in Computer Science from the
University of California, Berkeley, and an MS and a PhD in Computer
Science from Columbia University (New York). Her research is
primarily in Language Technology and multimedia presentation, User
Modelling and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), especially
Intelligent User Interfaces. Cécile is very active in the User
Modelling, Natural Language and HCI communities, both locally and
internationally. She is currently the chair of CHISIG, the
Australian Computer Human Interaction Special Interest Group of the
Ergonomics Society of Australia and the president of ALTA, the
Australasian Language Technology Association. She is on the Program
Committee of User Modelling 2007 (UM’07), was the programme co-chair
of IUI 2006 (Intelligent User Interfaces 2006), and the local
co-chair of the major international Computational Linguistics event
in 2006 (Coling/ACL 2006).
