NEIL WESTE
Neil Weste is a
technology entrepreneur (BE'74,BSc'75,PhD'78 Adel.). After a career
in IC design in the US , he returned to Australia to work at
Macquarie University in 1995. Together with David Skellern in 1997
he founded Radiata Communications which pioneered CMOS chip-sets for
ithe IEEE 802.11a standard.
Radiata was acquired by
Cisco Systems in 2001. Currently, Professor Weste is an adjunct
professor at Macquarie and the University of Adelaide . As an angel
investor he has invested in three new technology companies in
Sydney since 2003 and funded an ARC Linkage Grant in "Consumer
Applications of mm-wave ICs".
He is Chairman of the
AusIndustry Commercial Ready IT&T Committee and a member of the IR&D
Board. As well as a Fellow of the IEEE and is co-author of a popular
text on CMOS IC design (3rd edition, 2004) that has remained the
leading undergraduate text in this area for over 20 years.
