Welcome to the web site of the IEEE Transactions on Antennas & Propagation.

Since 1952 this journal has delivered many thousands of articles on a wide range of topics of interest to specialists, practising engineers, educators and students in the field of interest of the IEEE Antennas & Propagation Society (see Scope of Articles in the Transactions).
The Transactions publishes 12 issues per year and occasional Special Issues amounting to about 4000 pages annually.

Author contributions of relevant full length papers and shorter Communications are welcomed. All papers and reviews are submitted via the manuscript management software Manuscript Central. Before submitting a paper for review, please refer to Information for Authors.

The success of the Transactions depends heavily on its volunteer reviewers. If you wish to be a reviewer, please refer to Want to be a Reviewer for the AP Society? and afterwards contact the Editor-in-Chief.

The AP Society is grateful for the support of the organizations and companies that contribute to Institutional Listings that appear on the back page of the journal and on this web site. (see Institutional Listings).

Misuse of Return Loss
May 19, 2009. Perhaps over 30% of all antenna papers submitted to the Transactions in the past twelve months have used return loss incorrectly. This misuse of the term is occurring in other allied disciplines as well. For passive structures, return loss is a positive quantity and has the opposite sign of reflection coefficient expressed in dB. Read the full story. [pdf 29 KB]

Submission of Final Manuscripts Via ScholarOne
May 6, 2009. The final submission of accepted manuscripts is now via ScholarOne Manuscript (previously called Manuscript Central). From now on authors should submit their final material via ScholarOne Manuscript. The process is described in the decision email when a paper is accepted.

Migration to TAP Manuscript Central v4 from the current v1.8 took place on October 4, 2008. Read the full story
