Seminar Series: Technology Trends 2007
Oya Sevimli
Science Leader, Millimetre Wave and Microwave Technologies, CSIRO
ICT Centre
Oya Sevimli has over 20 years of experience in research and
development of microwave and millimetre wave integrated circuits,
modules and systems. She has been with CSIRO for close to 20 years
and currently she is the Science Leader for Millimetre Wave and
Microwave Technologies at the ICT Centre.
Her research highlights are the development of a world first 6
Gbps link with best efficiency so far in the 85 GHz band (2006), the
development of a new thin-film process for multi-chip-module
integration of millimetre wave modules (2004), and the development
of novel integrated circuits such as InP HEMT Oscillators at 50 GHz
and 100 GHz (1998), InP HEMT Bidirectional Amplifiers at 50 GHz and
100 GHz (1998), GaAs HEMT Low Noise Amplifiers at 80-110GHz (1996),
GaAs Schottky Diode Mixer at 80-120 GHz (1996), GaAs HEMT Voltage
Controlled Oscillators at 12.5GHz (1990), 20 GHz and 30 GHz (1994).
Her current research interests are in millimetre wave phased
arrays and millimetre wave module and antenna integration techniques
suitable for high data rate adhoc networks.
Oya was born in Turkey and received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from
the Middle East Technical University. She is a Senior Member of IEEE
and a member of Editorial Board for IEEE Transactions on Microwave
Theory and Techniques.
