Quantum Informatics

Quantum informatics is a burgeoning field of research that is bringing together physicists, computer scientists and engineers into one of the most exciting research endeavours in recent times.

Quantum information science offers great promise for applications such as guaranteed secure cryptographic communication and computers that can make difficult-to-solve problems solvable.

This lecture presents a general explanation of quantum information science and its potential applications and limitations.
