Seminar Series: Technology Trends 2007
MUlti Gigabit Wireless Networks
Oya Sevimli,
Science Leader, Millimetre Wave and Microwave Technologies, CSIRO
ICT Centre
Multi-gigabit data-rate millimetre-wave networks are becoming
viable due to availability of uncluttered spectrum and cost
reduction in semiconductor devices. The CSIRO ICT Centre has
recently developed an all electronic 6 Gbps point-to-point link in
the 85 GHz band with the highest spectral efficiency to date for a
millimetre-wave system. This talk will discuss the current landscape
and the future of millimetre wave gigabit wireless networks.
