About HAIL

Organised by Cécile Paris and Andrew Lampert from the Information Engineering Laboratory, the HAIL seminar series at the CSIRO ICT Centre (in Marsfield, Sydney) provides a forum for researchers and members of the industrial community to present and discuss work related to Human Factors, Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language. The HAIL series has been running continuously since February 1997.

Topics include (but are not limited to) task analysis and modelling, usability engineering, knowledge based systems, knowledge discovery, software engineering, language technology, dialogue systems and multi-media systems. The seminar series includes both academic and industrial presentations.

Our meetings are held fortnightly. We may, however, hold additional seminars when research or industrial visitors are in the area.

When:	11am on (alternate) Tuesdays
Where:	CSIRO ICT Centre Lecture Theatre, CSIRO Radiophysics Laboratory Corner Vimiera and Pembroke Road, Marsfield NSW (how to get here)
Duration:	Each seminar is expected to last an hour, including 10-15 minutes period for questions and discussion.

Video Streaming of Seminars

We usually provide a live VIDEO stream of HAIL seminars. The video recording and post-processing is thanks to the efforts of Julien Blondeau.

During a scheduled HAIL seminar, you can view a live video feed of the seminar (note that the streamed video at this link is only accessible during the actual seminar and will only be available where the speaker agrees to have their seminar both recorded and broadcast).

Digital video copies (in Windows Media format) will also be available after the seminar. In most cases, the video will be available to view or download via the web from the seminar's abstract page.
