Abstract

In this talk we will start with an introduction to the visualization problem for relational information. Then we will concentrate on issues surrounding the interactivity of such visualizations. Finally, we will give an overview of the current visualization activities of the NICTA HUM program.

Short resume

Peter Eades currently holds the Chair of Software Technology in the School of Information Technology at the University of Sydney. He is also Program Leader for the HUM Program (Humans Understanding Machines) with The National ICT Australia Ltd. The HUM Program focuses on information visualisation and is researching methods for the next generation of commodity user interfaces.

Peter's main research interest is, of course, information visualisation - in particular, software visualisation, financial visualisation, algorithms (especially geometric algorithms), graph drawing and program analysis.
