VizX: video summaries in the home video domainDr Jeroen Vendrig Tuesday 3 February 2004 at 11am AbstractAt MediaMill/University of Amsterdam, we developed the VizX home video summary generator. VizX is currently being used to enrich a video tape to DVD conversion service of a large German photo printing service. In this talk, I will expand on the techniques used to create summaries for automatic content-dependent DVD chapter creation, and particularly for automatically generating a DVD cover. In addition, I will show an example of applying the same techniques in a completely different domain, namely the European InDiCo project for indexing video presentations such as lectures and conference talks. Short resumeSince July 2003, Jeroen Vendrig has been working at Canon Information Systems Research Australia and as a casual lecturer at the School of Information Technologies, University of Sydney. Late 2002, he obtained a PhD from the University of Amsterdam, on the Interactive Exploration of Multimedia Content. His current research interests are automatic detection of structure in videos and viewer tailored presentation of video content. |
