Abstract

Open Source Software (OSS) development as a viable model for building robust and scalable software has attracted significant research attention in recent years. In this seminar I will present an overview of ongoing research in this area at the Language and Knowledge Management Research Laboratory, the University of Sydney. My particular focus will be on the application of association rule mining to a large dataset of over 40,000 OSS projects hosted by SourceForge.net with the goal of generating explanatory models of OSS project success based on the extracted rules.
