Abstract
Task models are a key element of model-based user interface design,
but they are difficult to build. Written task narratives, on the
other hand, are easier to write, helpful in design, but are not
formal enough to be used rigorously. To bridge this gap, researchers
have developed tools that aid in the extraction of formal task
models from scenarios, but the process is still largely one of
manually identifying key elements in the text. This paper proposes
the use of Information Extraction techniques to automatically
extract task information from scenarios.
