Abstract

In this talk a historical perspective of Requirements Engineering will be given followed by a brief survey of current problems and issues in Requirements Engineering research and practice.

In the second part of the talk current Requirements Engineering projects at JRCASE will be outlined followed by potential future direction of these research projects.

Short resume

Dr Didar Zowghi holds a joint lectureship position in computing at the CSIRO-Macquarie University Joint Research Centre for Advanced Systems Engineering (JRCASE) since July 1997. She is the leader of Requirements  Engineering (RE) Research at JRCASE and serves on several program committees of International conferences on RE. She is also a regional editor of the international RE journal. She worked as an Analyst in the computing industry both in the UK and Australia for several years Prior to taking up academic positions first as a full-time lecturer in computing and information systems at the University of Western Sydney, Nepean for 5 years and now at Macquarie University.
