The FRAMES Virtual Video Synthesis Prototype

Craig Lindley

Tuesday 6 April at 11am

Abstract

The FRAMES project within the ACSYS-CRC has been developing a metamodel for annotating video data with semantic descriptions, together with a synthesis engine that generates video sequences, or virtual ideos, automatically by association according to a high level specification.

The first version of the FRAMES video synthesis system has been completed. This talk will discuss the theory behind the system, the prototype implementation, and a methodology for annotation development that makes the interactive video design process understandable and systemmatic.

The discussion will conclude with a consideration of ongoing research directions.
