Abstract

The presentation starts with introducing the BPMS-Paradigma, a framework for business process management. Then the main concepts of BPR (Business Process Reengineering) and workflow technology are explained.

The implementation of business process models ("Business Graph") with workflow management systems inludes from a modeling point of view two main tasks:

a) The transformation of process models between the used modeling methods
b) The design of a workflow model ("Execution Graph"), that can be executed by an workflow engine

For both tasks concepts and project experiences are presented.

At the end there will be given a short demonstration of the business process management tool ADONIS which offers interfaces to different workflow products. ADONIS is based on research results evolved at the University of Vienna and was developed into a commercial toolkit by BOC GmbH.
