Abstract
CMIS' Image Analysis Group specialises in the development and
application of algorithms and software for image filtering, segmentation
and CHARACTERISATION. Where appropriate, we deliver software to
clients for specific applications. The group currently consists of
10 people (+ 1 Ph.D student) with backgrounds in a range of
scientific and engineering disciplines. We specialise in COMPLEX images,
especially of microstructure. We mainly work with greyscale and colour
imaging, but also in stereovision and imaging spectroscopy. We have
recently commenced a new activity in image motion and tracking. This
talk will highlight many of our skills by outlining 5 current or recent
projects.
About the speaker:
Mark Berman is the Leader of the Image Analysis Group. He has a Ph.D in
mathematical statistics. In recent years, his main research activities
have involved the development of statistical analysis tools for field
and imaging spectroscopic data.
