Abstract

The image analysis project of CMIS, in collaboration with Polartechnics Ltd. and Sydney's Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, has been working for some time already on the classification of skin lesions. The goal is to be able to detect melanoma (the deadliest form of skin cancer) in vivo, with a cheap instrument based on automated image analysis and some form of artificial intelligence, with an accuracy at least as high as a skin specialist.

In this talk we will describe how and were we have put the intelligence in the current prototype system.
